Hi, Cordite! Oh my goodness, your post was over a year ago!

So sorry, I was so caught up by work that I abandoned my blog. But I still see your stories around in Fanfiction.net and I make sure to give feedback once in a while.

Anyway, back to Harry Potter, Dianna Wynn Jones and Tanith Lee — yes, they are awesome authors! Tanith Lee is the strangest of the lot, though, for me–she can write sweet, slightly dark YAs one moment, and then next she’s penning truly dark, depressing fantasy horrors.

I agree with you totally about urban fantasy! Another reason I love it is that it also satisfies my craving for romance set within a fascinating, strange world. The fact that the romance is secondary to the Fantasy action usually meant the romance is drawn out–which is what I love! I prefer passionate pursuit in my romance and not immediate gratification–which I find boring.

Do you have any favorite urban fantasy? Mine is the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.

Of course, your Labyrinth stories are in my favorites.

For years I have been trying to find the books with Hilarion in – this is the first time I’ve found a mention of him (though Heaven knows why your blog didn’t come up in previous web searches I’ve done). I was about 7 when I read the books, but have never forgotten him (it’s now some 34 years later…), though I have forgotten the author’s name. Please tell me who it was so I can start scouring Amazon & 2nd hand bookshops! Thanks.
