Ember by Bettie Sharpe -- Artseblis - book review - dark fantasy - fantasy romance

A dark and sensual take on Cinderella. She is a witch, with a deformed foot and wild red hair. Her stepmother and stepsisters are whores and Prince Charming is cursed to be adored by everyone. She is the only woman to resist his charms. But by resisting she becomes his object of obsession. He searches for her over the years, until he finds her in the most popular whorehouse in the kingdom.

To avoid him, she takes on the guide of Cinder. But he is not above using his charms in wicked and devious means, even threatening the lives of her family. How can she escape him? Does she want to?

Bettie Sharpe is an author to watch out for. I love the way she writes and how she gives life to her characters. I love that they are not all that good. In other words, read this story, especially if you like dark fairy tales and unusual romance.

You can read this book for free on the author’s website.
